The free professorship “Dr. Laline Rivera de Vergara” is a program promoted by AZA whose vision is to recognize and honor the profile and career of a distinguished jurist in our region and country, such as Dr. Laline Rivera de Vergara; Considering that the best way to do this is through the dissemination, promotion and stimulation of critical thinking, reflection and research, features very typical of her personal and professional style and imprint.

Who in life was a distinguished jurist in Zulia and Venezuela, graduated from the University of Zulia (1974) cum laude; Specialist in Criminal Law from the University of Santa María; Doctor in Law from the University of Zulia (1999); Head of the Sixth Court of Instruction of the Judicial District of the State of Zulia, from 05/21/75 to 11/28/86; Holder by Credentials Competition of the Twelfth Court of First Instance in Criminal Matters of the Judicial District of the State of Zulia, from 11/29/86 to 12/30/92; Provisional Judge of the Ninth Superior Criminal Court of the Judicial District of the State of Zulia, from 12/31/92 to 06/30/99; Provisional Judge of Chamber No. 3 of the Court of Appeals of the Criminal Judicial Circuit of the State of Zulia, from 07/01/99 to 03/15/2002, Retirement Date; President of the Association of Lawyers at the service of the administration of Justice (Association of Judges), period 1982 – 1983.
